For those who own a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI, here’s something else to brag about. Last 2006, this muscular car was able to pull a plane, not just any plane mind you—a Boeing 747-200 Jumbo jet!

Although, we do have to inform you that it was “modified” a bit. A ballast weight and fitment of 4.56 axle was added to the vehicle and the plane’s engines were replaced by wing tanks and mocked up dual pylon engine pods. For more info, here’s a youtube video for more proof.

Cheating? Probably. Good ad? Well, we’re talking about it right?

Way back in the 1970’s, the first Volkswagen Scirocco was introduced and just a racy skin draped over the framework of the then-new Rabbit S er, Golf. This year Volkswagen repeated that same method with the introduction of a new front-drive Scirocco that, under the skin, is basically a Golf S er, Rabbit.

The new Scirocco is currently VW’s only coupe and, thanks to an aggressively sculpted body and a particularly wide-looking nose, it’s a truly stunning machine. It backs up those looks with engines culled from the Golf range < a 197-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four is the most powerful option and a 138-hp common rail 2.0-liter turbodiesel, the most economical. Transmission choices are a conventional six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch “DSG” paddle-shifted, automated manual. Even the sportiest Scirocco is reported to get somewhere near 37 mpg while topping out at 146 mph.

Loaded more with the trademarks of the Golf, most pf the major characteristics of the Tiguan is fully Volkswagen, a firm ride and responsive steering makes for one stable well-designed vehicle. With a diesel version sporting a TSI engine, equipped with both a supercharger and turbo charger 2.0 liter engine, you get all the power you need it when you need it most. Though the vehicle isn’t a speedster, it has the speed to perform when asked to in its designed role.

What do you get when you cross breed a tiger and an iguana: you get a Tiguan. Yes, this is how the new 2008 Volkswagen SUV got its name. The reasoning being that this vehicle can be used the wild outdoors (like a tiger) or even in extreme environments (like the iguana).
